Our Equipment & Tools
The right machine makes a job safer, faster, and cheaper. Seven teams run from a fleet built over twenty years: chippers, stump grinders, tractors and flails, access platforms, and the kit in between.
Owned, Maintained, Operated In-House
Anyone can hire a machine for a day. Owning and running a fleet is a different proposition: operators who know their own kit, maintenance that happens before things fail rather than after, and the ability to put the right machine on your site this week rather than whenever the hire yard has one free.
Every machine on this page is ours. We run it from our yard at Shurdington, service it there, and crew it with directly employed teams. That is what lets us commit to a start date and hold it, whether the job is a phased contract across a council estate or a single tree behind a terrace with a gateway to get through.
Plant and machinery
The heavy end of our fleet, and the reason we can take on work that would otherwise need a specialist subcontractor brought in.
- Valtra T254 tractor, running Heizohack chipper and crane attachments
- JCB 520 Loadall telescopic handler, working as both loader and forklift, so bulk material and palletised deliveries are handled by one machine
- JCB 8008 micro excavator, 950kg and 700mm wide, narrow enough to pass through a standard doorway and reach rear gardens, courtyards and enclosed spaces nothing larger can get to
- Avant 650i compact articulated loader, for restricted access and surfaces that will not take a full-size machine
- Spider crane arriving shortly, for lifts in courtyards, behind buildings and on sites a conventional crane cannot reach
Chipping, processing and stump removal
Enough processing capacity to keep more than one crew productive on the same site, and to clear arisings as we go rather than stockpiling them.
- Multiple chippers, towed and tractor-mounted, so parallel crews can each process on site
- Heizohack tractor-mounted chipper for high volume and estate-scale clearance
- Large tracked stump grinder for mature and multi-stem stumps
- Compact stump grinder that fits through a standard gateway, for gardens with pedestrian access only
- Log splitter, so usable timber becomes seasoned firewood instead of a disposal cost
Saws, cutting and handheld
We standardise on two manufacturers rather than buying whatever is cheapest. One parts and battery ecosystem, and a spare on the shelf for anything that fails mid-job.
- Stihl chainsaws across climbing and ground saws, in a range of bar lengths
- Stihl blowers for clearance and site tidy
- Makita cordless drills, saws and landscaping tools
- Hedge trimmers, strimmers and mowers for contracted grounds work
Climbing, rigging and access
Sectional dismantling over buildings, glasshouses and live roads is the work that separates a qualified team from a general contractor.
- Full climbing systems, ropes, harnesses and friction devices
- Rigging kit for controlled dismantling over structures and boundaries
- A-frame ladders for lower access work
- Chainsaw-rated protection throughout: helmets with visor and ear defence, cut-resistant trousers, boots and gloves
Fleet and transport
Enough vehicles and towing capacity to run separate crews in different counties on the same day, which is what makes covering ground practical rather than theoretical.
- Citroën Berlingo vans for survey visits and small works
- Citroën Relay vans for crews, tools and arisings
- Toyota Hilux for towing and access across soft ground
- Ifor Williams trailers and flat beds for moving plant between sites
Grounds care, soft washing and treatments
The maintenance side of the business, from scheduled grounds contracts through to render and hard surface cleaning.
- Stihl soft washing equipment for render, roofs, cladding and hard surfaces
- Mowers, strimmers and hedge cutting for scheduled grounds maintenance
- Cement mixers for landscaping and hard surfacing
- Professional amenity treatments covering selective turf herbicides, moss control, lawn tonics and insecticides, applied by certificated operators under COSHH assessment, with application records kept for every site
Site recording and aerial footage
We record work as it happens, both for clients who want an audit trail on a phased contract and for showing the scale of a job once it is done.
- Sub-250g aerial camera, flown under our CAA operator registration and in the lightest class the regulations allow, which means footage can be captured over public areas without the additional permissions and site clearances a heavier aircraft would need
- Time lapse cameras on phased contracts, so clients can follow progress without attending site
- Action cameras for method recording and toolbox talks
- Aerial views of upper canopy and roof-level areas where a ground-level photograph will not show the issue
Maintained, inspected and documented
Owning the kit only counts if it is fit to run on the day you need it. Ours is maintained and recorded, not just parked.
- Plant serviced and maintained in-house at our Shurdington yard
- Lifting equipment subject to thorough examination under LOLER
- Machinery guarding and pre-use inspection under PUWER
- Daily crew checks recorded before work begins
- ISO 9001 certified quality management across the business
