Silver Tree Services runs 30+ staff across seven teams from Shurdington, near Cheltenham: tree surgery, grounds maintenance, landscaping, clearance, yard, nursery, and office. We’ve grown every year by doing work properly for clients like the NHS, Gloucestershire Police, and Stroud District Council, and growth means hiring. We take on experienced hands, and we take on people with the right attitude and train them up through our own training arm.

Who we look for

Qualified arborists, climbers and ground staff with NPTC tickets (CS30/31 minimum, CS38/39 for climbing roles)
Grounds maintenance operatives, experienced or trainable, full driving licence usually needed
Landscapers, hard and soft landscaping skills
Machine operators, tractors, flails, chippers, grinders
Trainees, no tickets yet but genuinely up for outdoor graft, we'll train the rest

Vacancies

Tree Surgeon / Arborist

Climb, rig and fell with kit most firms only talk about: Avant 650i, Valtra T254 with crane, Heizo-Hack chipper, and PPE chosen to your preference. We work quality over haste, so you get the time to do it properly and safely. CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 essential, and our in-house training company will take you further. Some working away from home.

Qualified Tree Surveyor

Own the job from first inspection to final quote. You will survey trees and woodland populations, call the shots on health, defects and risk, produce the reports and set the methodology our crews work to. PTI and Level 3 Arboriculture essential, BS5837 a bonus. Serious surveying tech, real autonomy in the field, and extensive travel.

Landscaping Supervisor

Lead a crew of up to ten and own the site from pre-work survey to final handover. Driveways, patios, decking, retaining walls, pergolas, fencing and full garden redesigns, with you as the client’s point of contact and the person who makes the standard stick. CSCS card and driving licence required. Not quite got the full ticket yet? Apply anyway, we train.

Grounds Maintenance Operative

Run your own round, your own way. Take-home company van, all modern plant and uniform provided, 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday with flexibility we are happy to discuss. Mowing, hedges, pruning, scarifying and seasonal cleans on sites you will take real pride in. PA1, PA6 and a manual UK licence essential. Clear route through to supervisor and management.

Oxfordshire and Upper Rissington	£25,000 to £30,000

Semi-Skilled Landscaper

Two years on the tools and ready for the next step up? Decking, patios, pathways, fencing, turfing, pergolas, sleepers and ground levelling, working alongside skilled hands who will train you towards a supervisory role. Driving licence required, CSCS card preferred. Bring the graft and the attitude, we will build the career around it.

What we expect back

Straight talking works both ways: we expect people to turn up, work safely, look after kit, and treat clients’ sites like their own ground. Standards are checked, not assumed, because our name is on every job. If that sounds like pressure, it isn’t, it’s just the absence of chaos, and people who’ve worked for chaotic outfits notice the difference in the first week.
